Craftsmanship, precision and passion

My journey into dentistry did not begin in a lecture hall, but in a workshop. In 1998, I began my training as a dental technician – a craft that fascinated me from the very beginning. In the years that followed, I gained valuable experience in various dental laboratories in Düsseldorf. In 2006, I successfully passed the master craftsman's examination at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts.

But my thirst for knowledge was not yet quenched. In 2007, I began studying dentistry at the University of Marburg, graduating in 2012. Today, I combine the best of both worlds in my practice: the technical precision of a dental technician with the medical knowledge of a dentist.

A passion for aesthetics and quality runs in our family.
My father was a master dental technician in Ratingen, where he ran the Smale dental laboratory for many years. Since the 1970s, our family has stood for the highest standards of craftsmanship and a deep understanding of functional and aesthetic dentistry.

This network of specialists, technicians and colleagues, which has grown over decades, is a central part of our work – and a great advantage for our patients. Because we are convinced that in a highly specialised society, we can only achieve excellent results if everyone performs at their best in their field of expertise.

‘Craftsmanship is the visible soul of work.’
— John Ruskin, English social philosopher and art critic

I look forward to welcoming you to my practice – with an open ear, a trained eye and the commitment to give you the best possible care.
